John Parkinson

Professor John A Parkinson has held an academic position at Bangor University since 2004 and was appointed Head of School in October 2013. His research focuses on the interactions between motivation and behaviour with a particular focus on positive psychology and the promotion of optimal functioning. His work aims to develop and evaluate interventions that promote healthy cognition and behaviour and in so doing help individuals achieve goals and overcome challenges. John is currently Deputy Dean for the College of Human Sciences, and also acts to facilitate transdisciplinary research and innovation through his involvement in Pontio Innovation at Bangor University.
