Main purpose of role

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Senior Research Officer will lead on the development and delivery of a thought paper on the role of innovation in the health and social care sector in Wales and consider other areas and subjects for future thought papers.

The post holder will:

  • Lead the research for the development of a thought paper on the role of innovation in health and social care in Wales.
  • Convene and run a senior editorial group that will contribute to the content and development of the work.
  • Manage a contracted writer to work on the stages of the paper up to the delivery of the final draft for publication.
  • Lead the design of a programme of activity for sharing and embedding the recommendations outlined in the paper with key audiences.

The role would suit an individual who has senior experience of the NHS in Wales and an appreciation of the complexities of large-scale change and adoption of new approaches to delivering services. The individual would need to have a relevant network to support the work, as well as a background in academic research and the design and delivery of thought-papers for non-technical audiences. Please see full job description below.
