Company background
Compton Developments Ltd hold worldwide patents in the use of a botanical extract for the treatment of inflammatory conditions. Over the past decade work has been conducted on the botanical extract in the treatment of breast cancer and rheumatoid arthritis.
Company challenges
The company lacks biological expertise to develop a cell line model to study the anti-inflammatory effects of the botanical drug extract they hold patents for. They would like to work towards developing an inflammatory bowel disease model to test the effects of the drug extract.
This project is part of the Accelerate programme which is part-funded by the European Regional Development fund, through Welsh Government.
