Whiteboards are a common feature on hospital wards. Traditionally they contain handwritten information, however, there are many problems with this approach, these include, eligibility, accuracy, relevance and access. CTMUHB has completed the first phase of an innovative project to develop a bespoke IT application that draws together patient information from hospital data systems and presenting this on a large TV screen in place of the traditional whiteboards – an e-whiteboard.

Healthcare challenges

CTMUHB currently seek to further develop and polish the developed e-whiteboard application in addition examining whether implementation of the e-whiteboard system leads to service improvement.

This project is part of the Accelerate programme which is part-funded by the European Regional Development fund, through Welsh Government.
