Health Technology Wales are pleased to announce the publication of its 2024-25 Annual Report.

During 2024-25, Health Technology Wales considered 58 new topic referrals and published 8 new Health Technology Wales guidance documents, as well as 54 Topic Exploration Reports.

Its national guidance covered topics ranging from digital tools for diabetes management to the enhanced liver fibrosis test and included pioneering AI technologies such as AI-assisted endoscopy for gastrointestinal cancer.

The latest Health Technology Wales adoption audit achieved the best response rates to date and showed that there is a high level of awareness of Health Technology Wales guidance within NHS Wales and that its guidance is having a significant impact on decision making.

Throughout 2024-25 Health Technology Wales collaborated with UK wide partners to help drive the development of innovative health technologies. This included working in collaboration with clinical partners to develop guidelines for the appraisal of AI technologies.

It established a new partnership with the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and continued its work as a Collaborating Partner of the Health and Care Research Wales Evidence Centre.
