An exclusive workshop in which we will work together to understand the investment challenges in the UK for the MedTech sector.

A group of people sitting in a circle and speaking

As part of CPI’s MARRS (MedTech Accelerator: Rapid Regulatory Support) programme, a series of workshops are being hosted to understand the key investment challenges in the UK; they will offer attendees a unique opportunity to contribute directly to a government-funded report, which may contribute to future policy. We're pleased to host Cardiff's workshop at our office in Cardiff Bay.

At each venue there will be two workshops, one where SMEs will work together to communicate the challenges faced in securing investment in the UK and develop potential solutions. The second will be exclusively for investors who will help us to understand their point of view and their potential solutions. Together, with input from both side of the “fence” we can look at solutions that will move the needle for all.

At each session, lunch will be provided offering a valuable opportunity for investors and SMEs to connect and collaborate.

What to expect from the workshops:

  • Expert-led roundtables: Focussed discussions on funding challenges, and investment strategies
  • Government-backed impact: Insights from attendees will directly inform a government report on MedTech challenges and opportunities
  • Networking opportunities: Build connections with industry leaders, SMEs, and policymakers over a networking lunch

SME Workshops
Through facilitated discussions we will seek to understand:

  1. What types of funding has your company received?
  2. Have you experienced any barriers to getting investment?
  3. What do you look for in an investor?
  4. Will your funding strategy change as your company grows?
  5. How could you be better supported to secure investment?

Investor Workshops
Through facilitated discussions we will seek to understand:

  1. What makes a HealthTech company attractive for investment?
  2. Why would you invest or not invest?
  3. What subsectors of HealthTech do you focus on?
  4. How does your investment criteria or funding level differ for HealthTech?
  5. How could you be supported to invest more in HealthTech?

Attendees will contribute to driving solutions that empower SMEs, enhance investment opportunities, and sustain innovative products in healthcare. This is an opportunity to influence the future of HealthTech while addressing critical challenges in the sector.
