One of Life Sciences Hub Wales’ partners, the Academy of Medical Sciences, has launched this year’s Cross-Sector Experience Awards. This opportunity funds people to work in an organisation that operates in a sector different to their own.
The funding allows people to share and gain new skills in different sectors. This helps idea generation, fosters new collaboration, and can help support innovation. Applications are welcomed from all disciplines and sectors, with work having a clear link to improving human health.
Applicants can claim up to £100,000 to flexibly cover:
- The salary costs to backfill their position at the employing organisation during the award
- Activities performed by the awardee at the partner organisation
- The travel and subsistence costs of the awardee only
Who can take part?
All career levels are welcome except undergraduate students, with full and part time hours eligible.
You’ll be able to work in a new organisation in a different sector (the partner organisation) for between three and twelve months before returning to work at your employing organisation (their current employer). Applications with two partner organisations must have a total award period between six and twelve months.
