Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, is set to invest up to £3.7 million in innovative projects aimed at developing digital therapeutic extended reality (XR) solutions for mental healthcare.

Life Sciences Hub Wales is excited to announce that Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, is set to invest up to £3.7 million in innovative projects aimed at developing digital therapeutic extended reality (XR) solutions for mental healthcare. This funding competition invites organisations to submit proposals for projects that have the potential to integrate into the UK's formal mental healthcare ecosystem. 

Key Details of the Competition: 

  • Funding Type: Grant
  • Project Size: Total eligible costs must range from £200,000 to £300,000.
  • Project Duration: Projects should last between 12 to 18 months.
  • Application Deadline: The competition closes on 15 January 2025 at 11:00 AM UK time. 

Proposals should include a detailed design and features of your XR solution and how it will be implemented.  

Important Dates: 

  • 29 October 2024: Online briefing event.
  • 4 November 2024: Competition opens.
  • 15 January 2025: Competition closes
  • 18 February 2025: Invite to interview.
  • 10 March 2025: Interview panel begins.
