Life Sciences Hub Wales has appointed Cari-Anne Quinn to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
The appointment is part of a new strategic plan that includes the organisation’s alignment with the economic and health agenda of the Welsh Government.
Professor Sir Mansel Aylward CB, Chair of the Life Sciences Hub Wales board, said: “We are committed to building the relationship between the health and social care sectors and industry to drive transformational change to create a better future for the people of Wales.
“Cari-Anne brings an enormous wealth of experience, gained from her previous position as Head of Life Sciences in Welsh Government and an international profile in supporting businesses. She is already enabling us to work closely with NHS Wales and engaging with social care providers and our colleagues in the commercial and industrial sectors in Wales.
Cari-Anne said: “It is a great privilege to lead Life Sciences Hub Wales on the next stage of its journey. We have a unique opportunity in Wales, through a well-connected network of health and social care organisations, to work with industry partners to improve both the health and wealth of Wales.”
“We fill a unique space and are looking forward to building partnerships that will harness the creative energy that exists across these sectors. In turn, this will lead to innovations that will bring real benefits to the people of Wales as well as to the country’s economic health.”
Prior to Life Sciences Hub Wales, Cari-Anne Quinn was Head of Life Sciences for the Welsh Government. The role saw her leading health life sciences business engagement activity and working closely with Ministers and Cabinet Secretaries to advise on Welsh Government policy.
