Our Annual Report for 2024-25 highlights how cross-sector collaboration is tackling real-world challenges and making a lasting difference to the health, wealth, and wellbeing of Wales and its people.

We exist to help propel inspiring life science innovations into frontline use in health and social care across Wales. Our team works to support industry, health and social care organisations, and academic institutions who share our goal: using new ideas to manage, avert and prevent poor health. 

Our Annual Report demonstrates how we do this. It explores the projects we’ve supported over the last year and their impact on the health and wellbeing of people across Wales, economic development, and our health and social care colleagues.  

Here’s a look at our 2024-25 in numbers: 

Making life better for patients in Wales  

  • 64,606 patients accessing innovation  
  • 1,040 fewer days patients spent in hospital  
  • 2,191 fewer clinical visits   

Driving economic growth in Wales   

  • Delivering £3.895 million Welsh Company GVA Growth  
  • Securing £5.046 million in funding  
  • Inducing £2.44 million of investment    

Supporting the health and social care ecosystem 

  • Supporting 8 adoption projects  
  • Completing 119 innovation assessments  
  • Crafting 16 market intelligence reports, 28 rapid scan reports, 4 sector reports and 4 international reports  

Overall, we delivered a return on investment of £9 for every £1 spent

“From digital prescriptions to pioneering cancer diagnostics, our work continues to deliver real impact. In 2024-25 we’ve seen 64,606 patients access innovation, which is a 29% increase on what we achieved in 2023-24.
