Life Sciences Hub Wales

UK Government recently published ‘The UK’s Modern Industrial Strategy’, which details how it plans to deliver economic growth to increase business investment and grow the industries of the future in the UK. We were pleased to see Wales’ inclusion as a key region for helping to achieve this.

The strategy emphasises the importance of partnership working between government and industry, focussing on high-growth sectors including life sciences, advanced manufacturing and digital and technologies.

Wales’ industrial ecosystem was referenced throughout, highlighting how our nation is a place of choice for innovation and investment. This included our advanced manufacturing clusters and how we host a range of globally competitive life sciences companies.

The paper also highlighted how the strategy will help drive growth in Wales, including investment in our rail infrastructure, supporting a life sciences cluster in south Wales and investment in various manufacturing facilities.

Our Chief Executive Officer, Cari-Anne Quinn, said:

“Life Sciences Hub Wales has first-hand experience of the fantastic range of life sciences industry partners here in our nation – from start-ups through to multinationals. We were pleased to support the Welsh Life Sciences Sector’s high potential growth opportunities to drive UK-wide economic growth through industrial strategy and look forward to supporting our colleagues in UK Government making this a reality.”
