The Regional Innovation Co-ordination (RIC) Hubs form a national network funded by Welsh Government. These Hubs sit within the local Health Board and work to enable the Regional Partnership Board's transformation programme and complement the Regional Integrated Fund (RIF) focussing on innovation infrastructure and activity helping to integrate health and care services. This Hub is situated within the West Glamorgan Regional Partnership Board.

St Mary’s Pharmaceutical Unit (SMPU) is a MHRA licenced and regulated pharmaceutical specials manufacturer and provide a range of medicines and pharmaceutical services for patients and customers worldwide. SMPU develops novel patient treatments from an initial concept, or formulations for a special clinical need such as a new procedure or for patient safety.

The WCISU is the National Cancer Registry for Wales, which records, stores and reports on all incidence of cancer within Wales. The unit also conducts their own research and collaborates with Welsh universities and with numerous large-scale international studies.

The WIDI is a collaboration between the University of Wales Trinity St David (UWTSD) and the NHS Wales Informatics Service (NWIS - Now Digital Health and Care Wales). This partnership has led to the development of initiatives linked to health data management, whilst also allowing the NWIS to contribute to the design of academic programs within UWTSD, whilst giving UWTSD students the opportunity to access work placements and internships.

The Tritech Institute is a med-tech innovation facility within Hywel Dda UHB that offers healthcare companies services including research, evaluation, advice and access to university partners.
