Innovation Directory – Wales

RPBs have been established as part of Welsh Government's Social Services and Well Being Act to improve the well-being of the population and improve how health and care services are delivered in their region. The North Wales RPB covers the same area as Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

The Regional Innovation Co-ordination (RIC) Hubs form a national network funded by Welsh Government. These Hubs sit within the local Health Board and work to enable the Regional Partnership Board's transformation programme and complement the Regional Integrated Fund (RIF) focussing on innovation infrastructure and activity helping to integrate health and care services. This Hub is situated within the North Wales Regional Partnership Board.

North West Cancer Research funds cancer research in the North West of England and North Wales. This research is mostly carried out in three centres of excellence at the University of Liverpool, Lancaster University and University of Wales in Bangor

Nu Instruments is a Wrexham-based designer and manufacturer of high-performance mass spectrometers, with application in physical and life sciences, including biomedical imaging.

Omics Hub Wales is a contract testing laboratory that provides analytical services for proteomics research. Services include protein identification using mass spectrometry, proteome mapping, and gel electrophoresis.

OnICs is a Cardiff-based digital health company specialising in oncology. OnICS have developed the iNOTZ suite of products, which are applications that captures medical consultation data in the clinic and automatically produces the medical note for the consultant.

ONYA Therapeutics is a biotech start up and a spin-out from Neem Biotech, focused on developing novel wound healing therapies by preventing bacterial infection. ONYA have three products in their pipeline in various stages of preclinical development.
