RHCW is supported by Hywel Dda University Health Board, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Powys Teaching Health Board and Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust in order to develop and collate research related to rural health, and to improve the training and recruitment of healthcare professionals to rural communities.

RWG Mobile is a mobile network established to service Wales. Building on this network RWG launched iCare, a program that connects devices such as blood pressure monitors and digital thermometers and allows for carers to remotely monitor patients in their homes.

SABRE Cymru is an interdisciplinary network that is focused on research related to infectious disease outbreaks.

Sbarc is a social science research park based within Cardiff University and features commercial units, offices and co-working spaces, laboratories, testbeds and exhibition space. Within Sbarc, Cardiff Innovations provides support to spinouts and startups

Science and Engineering Applications (SCIENAP) develop digital technology in a range of fields, including healthcare. SCIENAP have developed CHAI, a platform for healthcare workers to capture and process patient data, which can be used to create care plans and clinical handover notes. The company have also developed Care and Respond, a digital health passport for patients with rare or complex conditions.

Seastorm are a software company who have developed Trialflare, an electronic solution for data capture from clinical trials, including electronic consent and patient reported outcomes.

SERB Pharmaceuticals (previously BTG) are a pharmaceutical company developing drugs for emergency care and rare diseases. SERB acquired BTG Specialty Pharmaceuticals in 2021, who had a portfolio of emergency care medicines, including antivenins developed by Protherics who BTG acquired in 2008. Protherics have a manufacturing facility in Llandysul

SETsquared is a partnership between the universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Southampton and Surrey. The paetnership provides a range of business suppport programmes aimed at students, academic researchers, technology company founders and SMEs.

SGS Quay Pharma is a Contract Development Manufacturing Organisation who provide services to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, including formulation development, clinical manufacturing and analytical services. The company has two sites in Deeside.

Sharp Clinical Services, is a supplier of clinical trial packaging, labelling and distribution services for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies from phase I trials through to commercial launch. The company’s services include analytical and formulation services, contract manufacturing, primary and secondary packaging, storage and distribution.
