Innovation Directory – Wales

The North Wales Organisation for Randomised Trials in Health & Social Care (NWORTH) is an academic clinical trial centre that specialises in the design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials and has particular expertise in undertaking evaluations of complex interventions. The centre is funded by Health and Care Research Wales and is based in Bangor University.

RPBs have been established as part of Welsh Government's Social Services and Well Being Act to improve the well-being of the population and improve how health and care services are delivered in their region. The North Wales RPB covers the same area as Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

The Regional Innovation Co-ordination (RIC) Hubs form a national network funded by Welsh Government. These Hubs sit within the local Health Board and work to enable the Regional Partnership Board's transformation programme and complement the Regional Integrated Fund (RIF) focussing on innovation infrastructure and activity helping to integrate health and care services. This Hub is situated within the North Wales Regional Partnership Board.

North West Cancer Research funds cancer research in the North West of England and North Wales. This research is mostly carried out in three centres of excellence at the University of Liverpool, Lancaster University and University of Wales in Bangor

OnICs is a Cardiff-based digital health company specialising in oncology. OnICS have developed the iNOTZ suite of products, which are applications that captures medical consultation data in the clinic and automatically produces the medical note for the consultant.
