The RCP Wales supports Welsh physicians, by providing educational events and networking opportunities, as well campaigning for improvements to healthcare, medical education and public health.
RSR is a major developer and manufacturer of medical diagnostics with particular emphasis on autoimmune thyroid disease, type 1 diabetes mellitus, neuroimmunology and adrenal autoimmunity. RSR's products include in vitro diagnostic devices, reagent and kits to detect and measure various autoantibodies for disease diagnosis and management.
RHCW is supported by Hywel Dda University Health Board, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Powys Teaching Health Board and Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust in order to develop and collate research related to rural health, and to improve the training and recruitment of healthcare professionals to rural communities.
RWG Mobile is a mobile network established to service Wales. Building on this network RWG launched iCare, a program that connects devices such as blood pressure monitors and digital thermometers and allows for carers to remotely monitor patients in their homes.
SABRE Cymru is an interdisciplinary network that is focused on research related to infectious disease outbreaks.
The Secure Anonymised Information Linkage (SAIL) Databank is a databank that provides researchers access to billions of person-based records, including health and administrative data spanning up to 30 years from an entire population. The databank is supported by Swansea University in partnership with Digital Health and Care Wales, and is funded by the Welsh Government, Health and Care Research Wales and the Econmic and Social Research Council.
Sbarc is a social science research park based within Cardiff University and features commercial units, offices and co-working spaces, laboratories, testbeds and exhibition space. Within Sbarc, Cardiff Innovations provides support to spinouts and startups
Science and Engineering Applications (SCIENAP) develop digital technology in a range of fields, including healthcare. SCIENAP have developed CHAI, a platform for healthcare workers to capture and process patient data, which can be used to create care plans and clinical handover notes. The company have also developed Care and Respond, a digital health passport for patients with rare or complex conditions.
The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) is one of UKRI's seven research councils, and provides funding for science and engineering research
Seastorm are a software company who have developed Trialflare, an electronic solution for data capture from clinical trials, including electronic consent and patient reported outcomes.
